Marta Lachowska has a diverse work experience in the field of economics and research. Marta started their career in 2004 as a Project Intern at Regeringskansliet, Näringsdepartementet. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant at Stockholm University. In 2010, they joined the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research as an Economist, and later advanced to the position of Senior Economist. In 2022, Marta became the Deputy Director of Research at the same institute. Additionally, they have also worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in 2018 and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Kalamazoo College in 2015.
Marta Lachowska began their education in 1997 at Kungsholmens Gymnasium/Stockholms Musikgymnasium, where they pursued an English Language Natural Sciences Program. In 2000, they enrolled in Uppsala University, where they took courses in Political Science as part of the "Politices magister" program. Marta then attended Stockholm University from 2001 to 2005, completing their Master of Science in Business Administration and Economics with a major in Economics. Continuing their studies at Stockholm University from 2005 to 2010, Marta achieved a Ph.D. in Economics. Additionally, Marta briefly studied Economics at Princeton University in 2008 and 2009, although no specific degree was mentioned.
