Ilaria Fasanella

Ilaria Fasanella, MSc, PhD, currently serves as Head of Commercial for COSMIC at the Wellcome Sanger Institute since August 2023. Prior to this role, Ilaria was Sales Director for International Clinical Diagnostics at Velsera, responsible for territory strategy and coordination of the international team. Ilaria's extensive experience includes positions such as Director of International Sales at PierianDx, where significant achievements included setting a company record for signed contracts and closing the largest account in company history. Additional roles encompassed Business Development Manager at Oxford Gene Technology, Territory Manager at SOPHiA GENETICS, and various positions at Roche Molecular Systems focusing on sequencing solutions. Ilaria began an academic career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Marie Curie Research Institute, contributing a strong educational foundation that includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Calabria and postdoctoral experiences at both the National Institute of Health and the University of Naples.
