Katie Sauter Messick has a diverse professional background in environmental science and geospatial analysis. Currently serving as a GIS Analyst/Staff Scientist at WEST Consultants, Inc. since March 2016, Katie has developed expertise in managing geodatabases and analyzing spatial data utilizing ArcGIS. Previous experience includes working as a GIS Specialist for the Regional Open Space Systems Project at the University of Washington Green Futures Lab, and as an Aquatic Weed Specialist for the King County Noxious Weed Control Program, where Katie focused on the management of invasive species using Integrated Pest Management techniques. Additional roles encompass coordination of volunteer programs for lake stewardship, habitat surveys, and field biology surveys. Katie attained a Professional Master's in GIS from the University of Washington in 2015, alongside degrees in Wetland Science and Management, Forestry, and a BA in Russian from Carleton College.
