Matthew Root

Matthew Root is an Associate Attorney at Westerman Ball Ederer Miller Zucker & Sharfstein, LLP since September 2022, previously serving as Partner at Bern Root LLC and Attorney at their own law office. With a solid background in real estate law, Matthew has expertise in commercial and residential transactions, leasing, land use, and condominium law. Prior to these roles, Matthew held attorney positions at Arent Fox and Olshan Grundman Frome Rosenzweig & Wolosky LLP, and contributed as Associate General Counsel at Modell's Sporting Goods and Associate Counsel at Dress Barn. Matthew's career began as an Assistant General Manager at Garden State Plaza - Westfield, Inc., following a foundational role as a B-52 Navigator in the United States Air Force. Matthew earned a J.D. from New York Law School and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University at Buffalo.
