Marco Aguilar has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Marco currently works at the World Economic Forum as the Marketing and Communications Lead since July 2020, where they are responsible for leading marketing and communications efforts. Previously, Marco worked as the Marketing Lead for the Centre for Cybersecurity at the World Economic Forum from July 2018 to July 2020.
Prior to their role at the World Economic Forum, Marco worked at Barclays as the CSO Communications Coordinator from December 2016 to June 2018. In this role, they played a crucial part in enhancing the bank's brand and reputation by managing internal and external communications, marketing, and events, collaborating closely with senior leaders.
Before Barclays, Marco held a position at Europol as a Senior Level Visual Communication Assistant from March 2016 to August 2016. Here, they created impactful visual content and presentations to help senior management effectively convey the work of the European Cybercrime Centre (EC3) to stakeholders, and also produced marketing materials for print, digital, and social media channels.
Marco's earliest work experience was as a Graphic Designer and Cartographer at Studio Aguilar S.A.S from September 2009 to February 2015.
Marco Aguilar earned a Bachelor's degree in Linguistic Sciences and International Relations from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. Marco attended the university from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Liceo Scientifico Elio Vittorini from 2003 to 2008, where they focused on mathematics. In addition to their degrees, Marco Aguilar obtained a certification in Project Management Foundations from the University of Cape Town in November 2021.
