Joyce Chan has a long and varied work experience. Joyce began their career in 1999 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the W.M. Keck Center for Transgene Research. In 2001, they moved to Berlex Biosciences as a Scientist. In 2004, they joined Amgen, where they held the roles of Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist, Senior Manager Business Development, Licensing, and Director Business Development, Licensing and Alliance Management. Most recently, in 2021, they assumed the role of Vice President, Scientific Analysis at XOMA.
Joyce Chan attended the University of Waterloo from 1989 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry. Joyce then went on to the University of Notre Dame, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Biochemistry between 1994 and 1999. During their time at Notre Dame, they were also a Visiting Graduate Researcher at KU Leuven's Department of Transgene Technology and Gene Therapy from 1996 to 1998.
