Aster Vandierendonck

Aster Vandierendonck has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. They began their career as a Monitor & Coordinator at Jeugd- en Kunstencentrum De Marge / Jeugdcultuur, where they were responsible for designing and implementing creative workshops for children and supervising other monitors. They also assisted with pre-school education and prepared children for primary school. Aster worked in this role from July 2009 to August 2016.

Afterwards, Aster joined Ghent University as a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences - Hepatology Research Unit. Their research focused on the preclinical assessment of the therapeutic potential of multitargeting cancer stem cells in hepatocellular carcinoma. Most recently, Aster worked at Ziphius Vaccines as an Associate Project Manager and a Scientific & Regulatory Writer. In the role of Associate Project Manager, they were responsible for managing and overseeing projects. As a Scientific & Regulatory Writer, they were involved in writing and documenting scientific and regulatory materials. Their start date for this position is February 2021, and their end date for the role of Scientific & Regulatory Writer is April 2022.

Aster Vandierendonck completed a Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Nutrition and Metabolism at Ghent University from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Ghent University, which was completed between 2011 and 2014. In terms of additional certifications, Aster obtained a certificate in "Presentation techniques: presenting with impact" from Expert Academy in April 2022. In January 2016, they received a certificate for completing the Basic ICH-GCP Qualification Training Course. They also obtained a certification in Laboratory animal sciences under Felasa cat. C in 2015. Additionally, Aster holds an Animator - youth care certification, which was assigned by Pedagogic Institute J.L. Vivès and recognized by the Department of Youth, Ministry of the Flemish Community in 2009.
