Tharindu Ekanayake

Tharindu Ekanayake is a Machine Learning Engineer currently employed at ZOOMi Technologies Inc. since April 2020, where the professional journey includes projects across the medical sector, autonomous vehicle navigation, computer vision data management, and self-checkout systems. Previous roles include a Machine Learning Engineer at MacDon Industries, focusing on autonomous vehicle technology for crop harvesting, and a Computer Vision Engineer at nSight Surgical, specializing in deep learning and computer vision. Tharindu has also gained freelance experience in machine learning applications, developed an AI at the Edge Bachelor's Thesis Project Course during a summer internship at the University of Oulu, and held positions in DevOps engineering and electrical engineering. Tharindu's educational background includes a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Peradeniya and currently pursuing a Master's in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Oulu with a focus on Artificial Intelligence.
