Scott is a chemist and solid-state physicist with experience in new product and process development as well as scale-up in multiple industries. He has created a number of high-tech startups--including Cold Springs R&D, Tangidyne, and Colnatec--to commercialize novel materials, sensors and analytical tools. He has worked in companies ranging in size from startups to medium (Inficon, Mass Measurement) to large (General Electric).
Scott has led product and process scale-up efforts in each of the above companies and has valuable experience in design, construction management, and startup/operation of new facilities. He created a class 10,000 cleanroom-based semiconductor-device manufacturing process from initial concept to construction, leading to the production of 1M+ electronic components a year.
Scott holds a B.S. degree (chemistry) from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
