Amir Meghdadi

Director Of Research at Advanced Brain Monitoring

Amir Meghdadi has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Amir started their career as a student at Sharif University of Technology from 1993 to 1998. Amir then joined Azad University as a graduate student, later becoming a faculty member and lecturer from 2001 to 2005. During their time at Azad University, they established a new Computer-Hardware Engineering Department and managed a team of staff and instructors.

Following their time at Azad University, Amir worked at the Human-Computer-Interaction Lab at the University of Manitoba. Amir first served as a post-doctoral research fellow from 2012 to 2014, where they invented new image processing solutions and analyzed brain EEG signals for seizure prediction. Prior to that, they were a PhD student at the Computational Intelligence Lab from 2005 to 2012, where they developed novel methods for content-based image retrieval and analyzed EEG data for seizure analysis in collaboration with neurologists.

Next, Amir joined the vision and image understanding lab at the University of California Santa Barbara as a postdoctoral researcher from 2014 to 2016. Here, they developed methods to detect and measure visual attention using EEG signals and performed experiments using EEG and eye tracking technology.

Currently, Amir is engaged with Advanced Brain Monitoring, where they have held the roles of senior manager of research from 2017 to 2019 and director of research from 2019 to the present. Further details regarding their responsibilities and accomplishments in these roles are not provided.

Amir Meghdadi has a strong educational background in electrical engineering with a focus on control systems. From 1993 to 1998, they attended Sharif University of Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems). Following this, in 1998 to 2001, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems) at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

Later, Amir pursued further studies in the field, and from 2008 to 2011, they attended the University of Manitoba and earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Apart from their formal education, in October 2022, they obtained a certification in "GCP for Clinical Trials with Investigational Drugs and Medical Devices (U.S. FDA Focus)" from the CITI Program.
