Jim Narvel

Jim Narvel currently serves as the Hybrid Product Development Innovation Lead and formerly as the Product and Systems Characterization Lead at Bayer since August 2018. With a long tenure at Monsanto Company since January 2001, Jim has held various leadership roles including Product Systems Characterization Lead, NA Variety Systems and Characterization Lead, and South America Soybean Breeding Strategy Lead, focusing on commercial development and breeding for cotton, soybean, and wheat. Prior to this, Jim worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Georgia from October 1999 to December 2000. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences from the University of Delaware, a Master’s degree and a PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Iowa State University, and a Postdoctoral degree in Plant Genetics from the University of Georgia.
