Anum Basit

Anum Basit has worked as a Developer Advocate for two companies. From 2021 to present, they have worked for Igloo Software. From 2018 to 2021, they worked for IBM. While at IBM, their key achievements included designing and developing a demo of native language chatbot (Roman Urdu) for a client using Watson Assistant, building a Vocal Virtual Assistant that activates on trigger words (like Siri) on IBM Cloud using Watson Assistant, Speech-to-Text & Text-to-Speech and Node. js, developing a fully functional chat room with socket programming using XAMPP, Composer & Ratchet, and building a custom multi-classifier image recognition model for categorization using Watson Studio. Her tasks and duties included learning and presenting the latest technologies including IoT, Containers, Watson APIs, working on Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and demos for clients, conducting hands-on workshops for professional developers, university students, and startups, educating/nurturing the local developer community with new tech on meetups, webinars, etc., providing technical/business mentorship to startups and facilitating a partnership with national incubation centers, logging details of the events to gather numbers for analysis, and writing and publishing blogs on the latest technology events.

Anum Basit's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Sir Syed University from 2014 to 2018, an Intermediate degree from Govt. Degree College S.R.E. Majeed from 2010 to 2012, and a Martriculation degree in Computer Science from White House Grammar School from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Anum has obtained a number of certifications from IBM and LinkedIn, including Freelancing Foundations from LinkedIn in May 2020, Node-RED: basics to bots from IBM in February 2019, and Getting Started with Containers on IBM Cloud from IBM in January 2019.
