Yohei Tanaka

Yohei Tanaka is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategic decision-making and business development within the energy sector. Since joining INPEX Corporation in September 2009, Yohei has held various leadership roles, including Senior Strategist in the Strategic Projects Office, where advisory support is provided to management on key strategic decisions. As Vice President of Business Development & Commercial at INPEX Americas, notable achievements include leading crude oil derivatives trading to secure the highest hedge price among 29 listed tight oil companies in the U.S. for 2021 and successfully closing the Lucius asset sales deal in August 2022. Previous roles include Deputy Manager, Lead Economist for the America & Africa Project Division, overseeing oil sands project sales and managing the Tangguh expansion and Abadi LNG reviews. Additionally, responsibilities included managing critical activities for the USD 34 billion Ichthys Project. Tanaka's career also includes roles at Macquarie Group, Goldman Sachs, and KPMG, with a foundation in economics from Keio University.
