Kristine McKinney

Vice President, Cancer Vaccines Research at Moderna Therapeutics

Kristine McKinney serves as Vice President of Cancer Vaccines Research and Gene Editing Therapeutics at Moderna, where extensive experience includes leadership roles in gene editing and translational biology. Prior to their current positions, Kristine held various directorial roles at Arrakis Therapeutics, contributing to oncology R&D and successful collaborations, including a $190M alliance with Roche. From 2014 to 2018, Kristine advanced mRNA therapeutics at Moderna, notably leading the mRNA-5671 program that partnered with Merck. Early career experience includes significant contributions to cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Columbia University. Kristine holds a PhD and M. Phil. in Biological Sciences from Columbia University, an MA in Biological Sciences from Columbia University, and a BA in Biochemistry from Rice University.
