Daniel Garcia Cabanillas is a highly skilled virologist currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Morgridge Institute for Research since September 2021, focusing on the ultrastructural characterization of FHV replication factories. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Senda Biosciences, where Daniel led efforts in developing a platform for extracellular vesicle production, and a PhD in Virology and Immunology from the Université du Québec - Institut national de la recherche scientifique, during which pioneering research was conducted on viral extracellular vesicles and their intracellular trafficking. Earlier internships at INRA French National Institute for Agricultural Research and IECB involved identifying plant factors related to viral movement and establishing interactions within critical transcription complexes, respectively. Daniel holds a Master’s degree in Plant Biology and Biotechnology from Université de Bordeaux, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the same institution.
