Michael Frodyma has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Michael has held various leadership roles in manufacturing operations at NewLeaf Symbiotics, Inc., including Vice President, Senior Director, and Director. Michael'sresponsibilities included optimization of fermentation processes, formulation development, and overseeing contract manufacturing. Prior to their time at NewLeaf, Frodyma worked at Novozymes, where they led departments focused on stability research, microbial formulations, and application development. Michael also served as a Senior Scientist at a biotechnology company, specializing in microbiological solutions. Before their career in the biotech industry, Frodyma worked as an Associate Professor at Brevard Community College, where they taught introductory biology. Michael began their career as a Climbing Instructor at Boulder's Climbing Gym. Frodyma is also set to serve as a Scientific Advisory Board Member at Switch Bioworks in the future.
Michael Frodyma earned a Ph.D. in Bacterial Physiology and Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1993 and 1998. Michael then pursued a Post-doctorate in Antarctic Microbiology at Penn State University from 1998 to 2003. Prior to that, they obtained a B.S. in Marine Molecular Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology, completing their degree from 1989 to 1993. In 2010, Michael Frodyma also received a Certificate of Completion - Leadership University from Titan Group Consulting.
