Rosemarie Aben

Rosemarie Aben is a highly experienced scientific manager currently working at Nikhef since March 2023, contributing to the directorate team. Previously, Aben served as a strategic advisor for the municipality of Amsterdam from January 2017 to February 2023, focusing on collaborations with knowledge institutions and applied scientific research. Aben has a strong background in physics, including a postdoctoral research role at UMC Utrecht and a PhD from the University of Amsterdam, where the thesis involved measuring the properties of the Higgs boson as part of the ATLAS experiment. Aben's experience also includes positions at CERN, engaging in both graduate and visiting research roles. With a commitment to public outreach, Aben has actively promoted the excitement of physics through various contributions and held notable roles in student politics during academic years. Aben holds a Master of Science in Experimental Particle and Astroparticle Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Amsterdam, along with educational credentials from Nyenrode Business University.
