Michael Grossutti is a seasoned data scientist and machine learning lead at Spectra Plasmonics since March 2023, focusing on the development of machine learning models for chemical identification. Concurrently, Grossutti serves as a research scientist at the University of Guelph, leading a research program on infrared imaging and machine learning, specifically investigating aging, degradation, and cracking in cross-linked polyethylene pipes. Past roles include research associate positions at HeatLink/PexCor and Mirexus Biotechnologies, where Grossutti applied machine learning techniques in the analysis of PEX-a pipe properties and phytoglycogen nanoparticles, respectively. Additionally, Grossutti has extensive teaching experience as a laboratory instructor at the University of Guelph and earned a PhD in Chemistry from the same institution, along with a BSc in Chemistry and educational experience at UC San Diego.
