Position Summary

This position is responsible for building the PPM capacity to support program teams in China. This individual will partner closely with program leaders to manage discovery programs to achieve corporate goals. As a single-point-of-contact with the clinical PM team in US, this individual will contribute to develop the integrated development plan and facilitate a smooth program leadership transaction from preclinical to clinical.  This individual will also contribute to China development strategy for clinical asset.   

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Partnering closely with PLs to manage discovery programs to achieve corporate goals

  • Facilitate the project governance process for key decision gates in the discovery programs, including scenario plannings, risk/benefit evaluations and team recommendations. Ensure decisions made in project governance are communicated to program team members and reflected in plans / timelines

  • Responsible to develop and maintain discovery program plans and proactively manage program level risks

  • Facilitate program meetings, agenda, minutes, action & decision logs, risk registers, etc.

  • Set close link with clinical teams through PPM line to ensure the development of an integrated development plan for assets moving from preclinical phase to clinical

  • Develop and maintain PPM process and tools for discovery programs, for example template for governance meeting materials, candidate selection document template, etc.

  • Facilitate the evaluations of China clinical development strategy & plans for clinical asset. Responsible to drive the discussion cross-functionally within the organization or with external consultants / CROs and propose to governance the scenarios & recommendations

  • Support FP&A in budgeting process

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 12 years of experience working in one or more functional roles in pharmaceutical development, with >5yrs in a cross-functional project management role.
  • Experience in both early discovery program and (China) clinical development preferred.
  • Experience in managing external CRO for China clinical study preferred
  • Independent creative thinker able to challenge concepts
  • Team player able to partner with different line functions
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and high-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of the drug discovery and development processes with knowledge of appropriate regulatory guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal and influential skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
