Michelle Humphries

Michelle Humphries, SPHR, has a diverse and extensive work experience in human resources. Their most recent position was as the Sr. Director of Talent & Performance at Sunnova Energy, starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of People Operations at Colonial Pipeline Company, where they oversaw support for over 650 operations employees and leaders.

Before joining Colonial Pipeline Company, Michelle was the Sr. Director of Human Resources at Rent., where they supported a distributed workforce team of 800. In this role, they also led various restructuring initiatives that resulted in cost reduction and improved customer alignment.

Prior to Rent., Michelle held multiple roles at PulteGroup, one of America's largest homebuilders, where they served as the Manager of Corporate Human Resources and supported five C-suite executives and 80 senior level leaders.

Michelle also gained experience at beeline Group, North America, where they served as the Manager of HRBP & Talent Programs and the Division HRBP for the Eastern United States | Puerto Rico. In these roles, they achieved significant reductions in time-to-fill and staff turnover through the implementation of new talent strategies.

Earlier in their career, Michelle worked at Toys"R"Us, where they held various HR managerial positions. Michelle successfully transformed an underperforming and disengaged workforce into a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Michelle's early career experience includes a role as the Talent | Operations Manager at Hound Dog Marketing, where they were accountable for strategic promotional plans and talent management for various high-profile clients.

Michelle Humphries, SPHR obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Marketing/Marketing Management from Georgia Southern University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In 2015, they acquired the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI.
