Jens K. Habermann

Jens K. Habermann serves as the Director General of BBMRI-ERIC since September 2020, overseeing the legal representation and facilitation of access to biobanking services for high-quality life sciences research and precision medicine. Concurrently, Jens holds a professorship in Translational Surgical Oncology and Biobanking at Universität zu Lübeck, focusing on genomic stability in cancer and individualized medicine while leading the Interdisciplinary Center for Biobanking-Lübeck. Formerly, Jens presided over the European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking from 2018 to 2020 and worked as a board-certified human geneticist at the Ambulanzzentrum des UKSH gGmbH MVZ Lübeck, specializing in hereditary tumor syndromes. Jens has a postdoctoral fellowship from the National Cancer Institute and earned a Ph.D. from Karolinska Institutet.
